What is a Bunion?

A bunion (hallux valgus) is a progressive deformity of the big toe joint. The joint shifts out of alignment, causing a bony bump on the inside of the foot. Over time, this can lead to pain, swelling, difficulty wearing shoes, and arthritis.
What Causes Bunions?
Bunions usually develop over time and are often caused by a combination of factors.
