Recovery varies by procedure, but general tips include:

Keeping your Spirits Up is a part of Healing!

  • Audiobooks, podcasts, and shows you’ve been meaning to catch up on

  • Easy crafts or hobbies you can enjoy seated

  • Light journaling or gratitude lists

  • Celebrating milestones (e.g., first time without crutches!)

Rest & Activity

  • Take it easy for the first few days

  • Follow weight-bearing instructions (crutches, boots, or splints if recommended)

  • Gradually increase activity as advised by your doctor

Wound & Pain Care

  • Keep the surgical area clean and dry

  • Take prescribed medications as directed

  • Ice regularly to help control swelling

Follow-Up & Physical Therapy

Follow-up appointments are key. Physical therapy may be recommended to:

  • Improve strength and flexibility

  • Reduce stiffness

  • Get you walking and moving confidently again
