Dr. R. Scott Johnston is a Northwest Ohio native who grew up in Findlay, Ohio, on his family’s 150-plus-year-old farm. That background helped shape his down-to-earth approach to care and his strong connection to the local community. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Biology from Bowling Green State University before completing his podiatric medical education at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland.

Dr. Johnston completed a three-year surgical residency with the Department of Veterans Affairs in New York City, where he received advanced training in foot and ankle surgery. He later pursued specialized rearfoot and reconstructive surgical training in Mesa, Arizona. In 2013, Dr. Johnston returned home to Northwest Ohio, where he has proudly served patients in Perrysburg, Toledo, Bowling Green, and surrounding communities.

In January 2023, Dr. Johnston opened Heel & Toe Podiatry in Perrysburg, Ohio, offering high-quality, locally owned podiatry care close to home. His practice focuses on personalized treatment, clear communication, and helping patients stay active and comfortable—whether they need routine foot care, advanced wound care, or surgical treatment.

When he’s not in the office, Dr. Johnston enjoys playing trumpet in big bands, photography, woodworking, gardening, and working on cars. He met his wife, a shoe and handbag designer, during his residency in New York City. Together, they returned to Northwest Ohio to raise their family, support the family farm, and give back to the community. They have two young daughters and a very loved dog named Brooks.
